Frequently asked questions

What age can my child start?
We welcome children from 8 months old, with places available across our Baby, Toddler, Rising Three and Preschool rooms.
What time does the Nursery open?
We are open Monday to Thursday from 8:00am – 6:00pm and on Fridays from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
What should my child bring to Nursery?
We recommend bringing a change of clothes, appropriate outdoor clothing and any comfort items your child may need.
What activities do the children take part in?
We believe children learn best when they are given the freedom to explore, discover and have fun. Through our Montessori-inspired approach, children enjoy a variety of hands-on activities that encourage independence, curiosity and confidence, including practical life skills, sensory and creative play, puzzles and books.
How do you support my child's learning and development?
Each child is assigned a key person who gets to know them, their individual interests and needs. They work closely with your child to support their learning and development and work towards their individual targets. Through our Montessori-inspired approach, children are encouraged to explore, become independent and learn at their own pace, with our team supporting them every step of the way.
How do you keep parents updated?
We keep parents updated about their childs learning and development through their Tapestry online learning journal, where they can view observations, photos and information about how their child is developing in nursery. At the end of each day, our team provides a brief handover, sharing how their child’s day has been and any important updates.
Does my child spend time outdoors?
Absolutely! We believe outdoor play is a fundamental part of children’s learning and development. We visit local parks everyday, giving children opportunities to enjoy fresh air, explore their surroundings and take part in outdoor activities. We have carefully planned safety arrangements in place, including appropriate staff supervision and risk assessments, to ensure children can enjoy their time outdoors safely.
How can I arrange a visit or register my child?
If you’ve read our Prospective Parents section and are ready to arrange a visit or register your child, simply head over to our Contact Us button and fill in your details.
A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
How do you help children settle into nursery?
Every child is different, so before your child starts, we work closely with parents to create a settling-in schedule that is right for their child. This allows them to settle into nursery at a comfortable pace, helping make their transition a positive and reassuring experience.
